Paragraph - A Hartal Day |
A
hartal day is a frequent phenomenon in the recent socio-political perspective
of Bangladesh. It is observed by the political parties in order to create
pressure on the government for fulfilling their demand. In a hartal day,
procession starts from early in the morning and continues throughout the day.
People walk in a line with chanting slogans. They carry placards, banners etc.
which exhibit their view points aiming at the people and government. As a
result of procession, clashes occur between police and the precisionists.
Sometimes it takes a terrible situation which police cannot control. They take
recourse to charge with sticks or throw tear gas. At that moment, the sounds of
crackers and explosion of bombs are heard. The angry mob set fire on vehicles
and shops. Many students, businessmen, professionals, taxi drivers, rickshaw
pullers even ordinary people lose their lives due to reckless activities of the
precisionists. All vehicular transports stop moving on the roads. Rickshaws and
cars are broken by the angry mob. Despite such situation, people go to their
offices and work places facing hurdles. Hartal has a serious negative impact on
the economy of the country as well as on the normal life of the city
inhabitants. In my opinion, we should protest against the misdeeds of the
ruling party but the expression of protest by the oppositions should be
constitutional. We must not forget that ours is a developing poor country and
any adverse impact on our economy affects equally the government and the common
people at large. So, we should find out possible alternatives of hartal to
press our demands.
