A book fair is a kind of fair where books of different kinds are brought for sale and display. It is of recent origin. Nowadays it has become very popular in our country. Generally it is held in towns and cities in the months of January and February. The Bangla Academy book fair is the largest one book fair in our country. It is held to observe the Language Movement Day. A large number of book stalls are set up in an open space. All kinds of books are displayed here. Books of poems, stories, novels, dramas, etc. are in high demand. New books and rare books are also found in a book fair. A book fair is open to all. People of all ages visit it. It becomes crowded in the evening. Seminars and discussions are also held in it. A book fair helps to develop our habit of reading and buying books. It helps to change our outlook and enriches our knowledge. It spreads our history and culture. Above all, a book fair helps to create new writers. I think a peaceful atmosphere should be maintained at any cost to make such a fair successful.
