Paragraph - Dangers of Smoking |
Smoking tobacco is a bad habit. It is
very dangerous. Some people smoke to look smart. Some become addicted to
smoking through bad association. Frustration, failure in love, unemployment,
parents' indifference, etc. are responsible for this bad habit. Smoking has bad
effects on our body, mind, and environment. It causes cancer, heart attack,
chronic bronchitis, and some other diseases. One puff cigarette contains fifteen
billion particles of harmful matters. They include nicotine, methyl alcohol,
carbon monoxide, arsenic and other acids. Nicotine prevents the free flow of
blood. It reduces the supply of oxygen in the body. It damages our lungs,
nerves, and brain. Smoking can disturb the mind, affect the nose, and irritate
the eyes. Smoking is thus like taking poison slowly. Again a smoker can do harm
to the non-smokers around him. A non-smoker is equally affected by taking the
polluted air. Something should be done to save our young generation from
smoking. Smoking in the public places should be banned to save the non-smokers.
Public awareness should be raised in this regard. Parents should take proper
care of their children. The government has made some laws to stop open smoking.
The laws against smoking should be enforced strictly. In fact, smoking should
be always discouraged.
