Diarrhea Broke out in Feni

Hasan Mahmud, Dhaka, 16 September: Diarrhea has broken out in an epidemic form in five villages of Feni. It has already claimed 10 lives and attacked about 1000 people in the last few days. The situation is going from bad to worse day by day. The cause of the outbreak of diarrhea is the taking of unwholesome food owing to poverty and scarcity of pure drinking water.

The diarrhea patients are being treated in Upazila Health Complex, and the serious patients have been sent to Mohakhali Diarrhea Hospital for treatment. The government has sent a medical team with necessary medicines to treat the patients.

A few NGOs have also extended their cooperation to supply food to the poverty-stricken people and to treat the diarrheal patients. They are also supplying water purifying tablets and medicines among the victims.
