A dialogue about the causes of failure in English and its solution:
Zafi: Hello Zarif.
How are you?
Zarif: I am
fine and what about you? Why do you look so worried?
Zafi: I am
well. I am not worried. But I am thinking why many students fail in English.
What are the causes behind it?
Zarif: There
are several causes behind it. First of all, we do not have adequate, good and
experienced teachers of English.
Zafi: You are
right. We are learning communicative English but the teachers follow the age
old teaching method. It is a major reason.
Zarif: Students
are also not less responsible for their failure. Instead of following their
teachers and without understanding their topic they cram their lessons all the
time.
Zafi: Yes, you
are right. But English is an International Language, so we must have good
command over this language if we want to develop our condition. But how is it
possible?
Zarif: It is
not so difficult. For learning English properly a student should try to develop
the four language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Zafi: I agree.
But I think our infrastructure of education should also be changed and teachers
should be trained to be adept to communicative teaching method.
Zarif: Sure.
Besides, students should also change their habit. They should study regularly.
Zafi: Of
course. Our teachers should also make English learning more interesting to the
students.
Zarif: You are
right. It is high time to take measures so that the students find interest in
learning English.
Zafi: Sure. If
teachers and students try together, this problem will be solved in near future.
Zarif: Absolutely.
Let us hope for the best.
Zafi: Sure. Thank
you for discussion. Good bye.
Zarif: Good
bye. See you again.
It's good.
