Zafi: Hello Zarif, how are you?

Zarif: Fine, thank you. What about you?

Zafi: I am also okay. What are you doing?

Zarif: I am reading an article about the importance of learning English.

Zafi: Nice! Actually English is essential in our every walk of life.

Zarif: Of course. It is an international language. In this age of globalization, it plays an important role for communication in the present world. So, learning English is a must.

Zafi: But it is unfortunate that we are neglecting it. For that we are lagging behind our neighbours.

Zarif: Oh! It is really disgraceful. This situation must be changed if we want to keep pace with the modern world.

Zafi: Right you are. Our international relations and trade would be affected much if we do not learn English well.

Zarif: Exactly. Besides, without efficiency in English none can expect to receive higher studies as all the books on higher education are written in English.

Zafi: Yes, it is only English that can help us to enter the storehouse of knowledge. 

Zarif: Absolutely. But it is a matter of shame that most of the university graduates lack proper knowledge on English.

Zafi: Exactly, and as a result they are being deprived of getting good job and receiving handsome salary.

Zarif: Right you are. A sound command over English is a prerequisite for good job and good salary.

Zafi: Undoubtedly. In fact, the importance of learning this language cannot be described in words. We must study and practice English seriously. Thank you.

Zafi: Don't philosophize, please. I am really afraid as I have no good preparation for English. In a short time it is very difficult for me to make a success in English.

Zarif: I think your English learning method is not so good. You should learn some basic rules of English if you want to do well in English.

Zafi: You are right. Besides, I should improve my writing skill to do well in English.

Zarif: It is okay. You will do better if you read English regularly.

Zafi: Thank you for your encouragement. To speak the truth, I am afraid as I couldn't secure more than 50% marks in English in the last examination.

Zarif: No matter. You are a good student. I hope you would be able to make up for the loss.

Zafi: Now tell me about your preparation.

Zarif: I paid equal attention to all the subjects. So, I am not worried about any particular subject. Now I am revising all the subjects.

Zafi: Very well. You are always studious and laborious. You did not waste your time. You have also made a good preparation.

Zarif: Do not mention it. But it is true that I read regularly and emphasize on all subjects equally.

Zarif: Yes, I have already taken. I am using a mobile SIM for browsing Internet.

Zafi: Good, what is your idea about using the Internet?

Zarif: In fact, mobile and internet are now an integrated part of our modern life. I think it is no luxury at all.

Zafi: You're right. For quick communication mobile and internet are a must. I often download reading materials from internet for my assignment.

Zarif: I also download songs and videos from internet. But it is unfortunate that only the advanced section of our society has access to it.

Zafi: Really, it is unfortunate. Measures should be taken so that all people get access to it.

Zarif: Right you are. Every educational institution should have Internet connection. And the young should be encouraged to browse important websites.

Zafi: Sure. By doing so students should be given the opportunity to have the whole world through internet. But there are some bad effects of internet.

Zarif: Yes, some young people are watching pornography through internet, which are degrading their morality.

Zafi: It is absolutely true. Besides, some people are blackmailing others through internet.

Zarif: I agree with you. However, everything has good and bad sides and we should always take the good ones always.

Zarif: It was indeed very good. I have learnt many things about computer and its usefulness from the class.

Zafi: What things have you learnt? Can you tell me that?

Zarif: Sure. I have learnt about the usefulness of computer, mainly how a modern computer perform complicated work within the shortest possible time.

Zafi: Can you tell me the usefulness of it?

Zarif: Sure. Nowadays it has become very essential everywhere. In fact, modern life cannot be imagined without the uses of computer  

Zafi: Do you think it can calculate faster than a trained mathematician?

Zarif: Of course. It can do calculation faster than human being. It also helps us to store data process and recall them in time of need. In fact, life is very easy with computer.

Zafi: What other things a computer can do besides calculations?

Zarif: It can run business through internet, play chess, compose music, and many other things. It is also being used vastly in educational institutions, banks, offices, railway stations, medical profession, space centers and everywhere else.

Zafi: You really have known much about the importance of computer. Do you have any intention to acquire computer knowledge?

Zarif: Yes, I must acquire computer knowledge as it has become a part and parcel of our modern life. I am determined to do that.
