Zafi: Hello Zarif! How are you?

Zarif: I am fine. What's up to you?

Zafi: I am also fine by the grace of Almighty. What are you thinking now?

Zarif: I am recollecting the incident about how I enjoyed the summer vacation.

Zafi: Would you please describe it?

Zarif: Yes, why not? I went to my village home at Mymensingh. My heart leapt with joy when I met some known faces waiting for me.

Zafi: Were they very happy to find you among them?

Zarif: Certainly! They were very happy to find me among them. They welcomed me heartily. I was also pleased with their rustic simplicity.

Zafi: What did you do there?

Zarif: During my long stay there, I did a lot of things which gave me much pleasure and joy. The most interesting thing is that the village was free from urban noise.

Zafi: Didn't you go to the river?

Zarif: Certainly! One day my cousin along with his friends set a programme of boat riding in the river of Brahamaputra. We enjoyed the boat riding greatly.

Zafi: I see you enjoyed much. Did you make friendship with them?

Zarif: Yes. I made friendship with some of my cousin’s friends. I visited their homes off and on and enjoyed their hospitality.

Zafi: Oh, what a splendid summer vacation it was! Had I been with you!

Zarif: I also visited a village fair in the neighbouring village. That was a very crowded but enjoyable fair too. It would really be nice if you were with me.

Zafi: Really I feel thrill. Thanks for your nice description.

Zarif: Really! I have not seen you for quite some time.

Zafi: Yes, it seems to be an age. However, I have taken decision to learn English well so that I can speak and write English fluently.

Zarif: Okay, you have taken a wise decision. I really appreciate your decision. In fact, it is impossible to build up a career without learning English well.

Zafi: Exactly! But I do not know whether I would be able to learn English well or my attempt to learn English will end in smoke. Do you think I will face much difficulty to learn English?

Zarif: No, I do not think so. I hope you will succeed. What you need most to learn English well is to develop the four language skills of English.

Zafi: What are these four language skills? And how can I develop these skills?

Zarif: These four language skills are reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In order to develop your writing skill you have to learn the basic grammar rules.

Zafi: Oh, I see. But is that all?

Zarif: No. Every day you have to write some pages. Besides, you have to learn new vocabulary and their correct use and spelling. You have to write your diary in English every day.

Zafi: But how can I develop my reading skill?

Zarif: By reading English newspapers daily, you can develop your reading skill easily.

Zafi: But what about pronunciation for speaking?

Zarif: You can watch BBC, CNN, National Geographic Channel or English news on television to develop your pronunciation skill. You can also speak in English to one another in the class.

Zafi: It is an excellent idea. Thank you very much for your wise suggestions.

Zafi: Hello Zarif! How are you?

Zarif: I am fine and you?

Zafi: I am fine too. Why are you so late today?

Zarif: Sorry, I was stranded on the way because of a procession.

Zafi: What is it about? Who arranged this procession?

Zarif: You know there prevails political unrest in our country always. The opposition cannot tolerate the ruling party.

Zafi: Yes. The ruling party is also trying to dominate others. Recently they have made an issue by dissolving the caretaker government system.   

Zarif: Exactly! The opposition parties are opposing the act of dissolving the caretaker government and demanding the resignation of the government.

Zafi: Oh, I see! The opposition parties may have arranged today's procession prior to three days' dawn to dusk hartal.

Zarif: You are right. To speak the truth, ours is a country of political unrest at this moment. The political parties cannot tolerate each other. They do not think for the welfare of the people.

Zafi: Absolutely! They only hanker after power and money. Such tendencies create unrest, anarchy, and violence. They do not start movement for the common issues related to common people.

Zarif: What are the issues related to common people?

Zafi: The galloping prices of daily essentials, crisis of electricity and gas, law and order situation, the trial of war criminals and other issues.

Zarif: You are right. But I think the ruling party should play a tolerant role to keep the country in peace. They should value the opinions of other political parties.

Zafi: Exactly! Besides, the opposition parties should avoid the politics of violence and anarchy. They should not create unrest in the country to reach their goal. Thank you.
